Future Rohingya Engineer?
Let me introduce you to Mohammed Toyub. He is 15 years old and is from Bataka Village tract (Fatiya) of Northern Buthidaung Township in Rakhine State, Myanmar.
He fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh in 2017 with his family. Back then he was a 5th grade student. Though he is unable to continue his study as he did in Myanmar, he got himself enrolled in a Community Based School in Camp-1, Kutupalong Refugee Camp. Along with that, he is used to helping his dad in his betel selling.
He has a curiosity for things which he see everyday and has a high tendency of satisfying it. Unfortunately, he can't satisfy it.
In 2020 he made a bulldozer and people appreciated his work so much so that he earned people's rewards. Even money!
Now his latest creation is a jet. You may see it in his hands holding it. His dream in future is to complete his studies and become an engineer. His dad (Dil Mohammed) said that when people appreciated his child he feels so happy and proud.
If his child gets better education, he can do more and he wants to request people around the world for it.
Photograper Note - This #Rohingya child made this out of scrap. Scrap is all he has. Imagine what he could build if he had resources which others take for granted.
